One defense will be that, regardless of the merits of players` rights, those rights have been extinguished by the COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS ETCNT and USSF. In April 2017, both sides announced that they had ratified a CBA that will continue until 2021. The details of the CBA were sketched out by SUs Grant Wahl, who found that the CBA was not trying to solve the EEOC tax. He also explained how the USSF is committed to offering higher compensation to female players and how the CBA contains different rules on salaries and other terms of employment. The association sued the USWNTPA in February 2016 and sought a ruling on whether the existing agreement constituted a CBA. A federal court ruled in June of the same year in favor of the association.
