World Aids Day
Monday, 1st December 2003
It’s World Aids Day today. Hence the ribbon.
There was a giant concert in Cape Town over the weekend organised by the Nelson Mandela Foundation. There are also events going on all over the place over the next few days.
A few more related sites (by no means a comprehensive list!!)

AVERT
BBC Aids Debate
UNAIDS
Children with Aids Charity

Meri:
Yeah and you can all support the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s 46664 (it was his prison number on Robben Island) by going to the site Elly has linked to and downloading a little music. It will help save some babies who otherwise will have damn shitty lives. So go on and remember your little bit of money is worth ten times as much to someone on the other side of the currency exchange market.

Elly:
I only saw 4 people wearing AIDS ribbons today (one of which was me)….although another 3 did ask me where they could get one from…
I should have counted wearers on Poppy Day really to compare….

No, I think people are forgetting. Quickly. Which is definitely much worse. I think AIDS is a much greater threat to everyone that humans with guns. At least we can decide to stop killing each other off.
